Kally Orthopaedic Dog Bed Review
Orthopaedic dog bed that is perfect for older dogs as the thick memory foam filling supports their joints and muscles and relieves pressure points.
The UK’s Sleep specialists, Kally Sleep, have used their expertise to manufacture an orthopedic dog bed. We have been looking for a supportive bed for our 9 year old Labrador who is starting to suffer from arithritis. However, having a cockapoo who likes to snuggle up to him and who has allergies and a tendency to try and dig up the bed, finding a suitable bed for both dogs can be quite a challenge. Kally have definitely taken some time in the design of this dog bed and amazingly it ticked all the boxes for us.
This dog bed is certainly practical, it comes in neutral colours (we have it in grey but it also comes in Navy), the cover zips off and is washable and the base of the bed is waterproof and non-slip, so it doesn’t slide around on our tiled utility room floor. The memory foam filling is supportive and said to relieve pressure points and improve circulation – big tick for the lab. The low three-sided bumpers and open front also make it easy for him to get in and out of. The covers are also machine washable at 30 degrees which is really important when the dogs are jumping on it after a muddy walk or playing in the garden. The cover is even made from hypoallergenic polycotton which makes it suitable sensitive pets like our Minnie.
The dog bed comes in 2 different sizes (S/M and M/L) and this is the only thing we were a bit disappointed in. I must add it didn’t seem to bother our dogs though (especially the bigger labrador!). We went for the M/L size as our boy is a chunky show labrador and his ‘sister’, our cockapoo likes to sleep close to him. As you can see from the photo below, it was too small for them to share and although he was happy to curl up on the bed and looked perfectly comfortable, I think this size of bed would be better suited to a smaller working labrador or spaniel sized dog.
Overall, we felt that this is very well made, good quality dog bed which should last a long time. I would recommend it and hope that Kally consider making an XL size for larger breeds.
