I thought this Pet face paws for snores memory foam pet bed would be a good bet for my labrador as he reaches middle age. I liked the fact that it was orthopedic and made of memory foam and thought it would be good for his hips and joints. Washable is always a key thing I look for when buying a dog bed as they get filthy and the soft fleece cover of this one is machine washable. It also provides some padding and support in our Pets at Home plastic dog bed. 

Unfortunately, we haven’t had much success with this dog bed though, as my dog doesn’t seem to like it.  After a few attempts of trying to get him to lie down, I unzipped the cover to see what the problem was and the inner cover which is water resistant is really crunchy like a cheap plastic bag with mixed sized memory foam bits in side.  When we did encourage him on to it, it made a noise as soon as he moved around on it and the large really wasn’t big enough for him.  Thankfully, before returning this dog bed, I found my cat sat on it on top of the table!  He seems to love the crunchy feel and appears to have no issue with the crinkling and noise.  I would therefore recommend this as a good cat bed!
